The contour motif on cream, behind real body copy

Survey contours — hairlines only, no blur and no shadow, per the drafting law the engineering sheets are drawn by. Seventeen contours now rather than ten, running past the panel edges instead of fading out inside them, with the interval tightening and opening the way real ground does. Not one alpha value moved: the presence comes from density and extent.

Cream section, dense prose

Summit off the top-right corner. The clustering is structural, not placed by hand — the spacing law only permits tight bands at small radii, so the steep clusters sit in the margin and every contour large enough to reach the text column is a widely spaced one. Heavier index lines mark the steep ground, which is why the heavier weight never lands on a paragraph.

How your system works

Every head position, pipe run and measurement was developed from the actual site rather than from a template. When the system activates, each zone is brought up in sequence and held at pressure, so the roof, the eaves and the ground around the building are wet before embers arrive rather than after. The protection strategy follows the property, which is why the layout looks deliberate rather than evenly spaced.

Measured · Unchanged from the approved specimen, because density does not alter a hairline's colour. Body copy #4A4244 on the darkest cream stop (#faf7ee): 9.10:1 on clean cream · 8.73:1 where a plain contour crosses a glyph · 8.53:1 under an index contour. Bar is 7:1, so the worst case sits 22% above it. Tightest gap between adjacent contours is now 11.5 units, down from 28.6 — that headroom is what the density spent, and it is why the next change to the spacing law needs the crossing shield.

Specimen (b) · the arrival surface, dark

Not See It Live — that section's shell is light, and the only dark pixels it owns are a film block covered entirely by the video iframe plus a 40px caption strip. Neither can hold a field, so this is the arrival threshold instead: the one genuinely dark surface in the customer's experience of this document, reproduced stop for stop with its own type. Its gold bloom is omitted so the lines are judged alone.

The values this file asserted before they were measured. Read the top-right cluster: on a dark field a bright hairline is a streak, not a contour — and the heavier index lines are the ones that read most like damage.

The same geometry at the step the approved cream specimen makes against paper. It stops reading as scratches — and very nearly stops reading at all, which is the honest answer to whether this motif earns its place on a dark surface.

Measured · Line-to-surface step — the terrain-vs-scratch test. Approved cream reference: 1.043:1 plain, 1.063:1 index. Upper row (0.18 / 0.30): 1.299:1 and 1.690:1 — the index line makes a 69% luminance jump along one pixel, eleven times the step the approved cream line makes, and it drops the white-55% promise line from 6.28:1 to 3.72:1, under the 4.5:1 bar. Lower row (0.04 / 0.06): 1.040:1 and 1.086:1 — matched to the reference, promise line back to 5.90:1, headline 18.57:1. The lower row is correct and is also the finding: matched, it is nearly invisible.
